Meridian House

Guests were greeted at Meridian House in the Linden Tree Grove, by butlers in white jackets, passing Pink Gin Spritzers. The menu paid homage to the south featuring fried shrimp and grits, beef short ribs and buttermilk biscuits. While the menu displayed comfort food, the mood was formal, jovial and reminiscent of old world 40's glamour, that the bride wanted to evoke.

A champagne bar, adorned with olive and lemon leaf garland, welcomed guests to the wedding. The ceremony followed, and at the end of the vows, the best man and maid of honor gave their toasts. Guests moved to cocktails where strolling carts featured organic and farmstead cheeses. A Jack Daniel's Bar (paying homage to a dear friend), kept guests entertained, where bartenders made Ginger Fevers and Peach Basil Iced Teas.

Torpedo Factory

Lighting and texture were very important to this couple, and Torpedo Factory was the perfect location to bring these two to life. A candle wall behind the couple illuminated them while they said their vows. Two long tables with metal ribbon chairs, featured decor down the center of chocolate peppers, Japanese eggplants, ornamental kale and pears. Accenting these were frosted orbs and found objet de foret.

Monet’s exhibition at the Corcoran Gallery of Art (where the reception took place), provided inspiration for the décor. We incorporated water elements, like the Lucite table with floating lilies that held the escort cards. The lighting on the dance floor moved, just like ripples on a body of water would. Towards the end of the evening, a giant inflatable chicken (the mascot of the groom’s local family business), performed the chicken dance.

Yards Park

The Yards Park was the stunning backdrop for this dinner party inspired wedding. Before the ceremony, guests (and the couple) mingled at cocktails in the Lumber shed which had an aerial trapeze artist. Dinner was a seven course tasting menu - including Uruguay Ossetra Caviar and Corn Mascarpone Agnolotti. The decor featured mini succulent gardens on the dining tables and rattan and roost side table lounge furniture around the pool.
